From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

McCullough had again been voted to face Monday’s trial “Jack and the Screamstalk”, much to the frustrations of Ant and Dec. However, the Northern Irish radio star exceeded expectations, earning 10 stars and even a round of applause from the hosts, who have been critical of his past efforts.
Elsewhere, Maura Higgins has been celebrating her birthday but wasn’t impressed by Danny Jones and Alan Halsall’s “dad jokes”.
Reverend Richard Coles also opened up about his sexuality and his faith in a very frank and risqué chat with GK Barry, as the two form an unlikely friendship.
In a twist, the campmates were given their food early with many assuming that they were being given a treat because of Maura’s birthday. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a treat at all as they were all invited to go on board “The Fright Bus” for a late night challenge.
They were told: “Tonight, you will all have the chance to win treats. However, to be in with a chance of winning, you will all need to take a trip on The Fright Bus!”
Each celebrity could win a piece of luggage from the rack, described to contain holiday essentials and even a tasty treat. However, what happened in the challenge was left as a mystery as we’ll have to wait for tomorrow’s episode to see what transpired on the bus.
Finally, there wasn’t a celebrity picked for Tuesday’s challenge on the show but two celebs will compete in the trial, which has been confirmed as “The Fright at the End of the Tunnel”.
Follow along with our live coverage of tonight’s episode, below.

To keep you up to date: Barry and Danny’s dispensing of camp chores went quite badly quite quickly. Jane accused Barry of “misogyny” and “ageism” after she and Tulisa were assigned washing up duties.
To recap...
Washing up goes to Jane and Tulisa
Water duty to Melvin and Dean
Camp maintenance to Coleen and Maura
Cooking to Oti and Richard
Wood collection to GK and Alan
“Slight rumble in the jungle,” Tulisa says, as Jane protests being given “the one job I don’t want”.
Well this is already going down like a cup of cold sick...
Jane and Tulisa are asked to cover “washing up”
“Is that because we’re women?” Jane shoots back
Within minutes Barry and Danny are tasked with assigning new chores to the campmates.
“Have you gone a bit male-heavy on the strenuous jobs?” Danny asks.
“That’s a fair comment, but I don’t think they’d thank us,” Barry replies.
Hmm...
Back in camp, Melvin has been tasked to announce that the public have voted for two new camp leaders
The new leaders are Barry and Danny!
“Which of the following dances did not originate from South America? Samba, Tango, or Cha Cha Cha?”
The campmates get it right!
The reward?
BOILED SWEETS FOR ALL
Great stuff.
Phew, boring. But GK and Oti have won the “dingo dollars” and taken them to an ice cream van, where “Kiosk Kev” rings up the main camp to ask a trivia question...
Can the campmates get the answer right?
This is... not the most entertaining of tasks. Spice Girls, AC/DC, Missy Elliott and Rihanna providing soundtrack cues, however, so not a total loss.
Back from the break, we’ve joined GK and Oti as they take on a deals-on-wheels challenge.
They need to match the right car and its number plate with the right shop front. However, the driver is blindfolded, meaning their partner has to provide directions.
