From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

McCullough had again been voted to face Monday’s trial “Jack and the Screamstalk”, much to the frustrations of Ant and Dec. However, the Northern Irish radio star exceeded expectations, earning 10 stars and even a round of applause from the hosts, who have been critical of his past efforts.
Elsewhere, Maura Higgins has been celebrating her birthday but wasn’t impressed by Danny Jones and Alan Halsall’s “dad jokes”.
Reverend Richard Coles also opened up about his sexuality and his faith in a very frank and risqué chat with GK Barry, as the two form an unlikely friendship.
In a twist, the campmates were given their food early with many assuming that they were being given a treat because of Maura’s birthday. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a treat at all as they were all invited to go on board “The Fright Bus” for a late night challenge.
They were told: “Tonight, you will all have the chance to win treats. However, to be in with a chance of winning, you will all need to take a trip on The Fright Bus!”
Each celebrity could win a piece of luggage from the rack, described to contain holiday essentials and even a tasty treat. However, what happened in the challenge was left as a mystery as we’ll have to wait for tomorrow’s episode to see what transpired on the bus.
Finally, there wasn’t a celebrity picked for Tuesday’s challenge on the show but two celebs will compete in the trial, which has been confirmed as “The Fright at the End of the Tunnel”.
Follow along with our live coverage of tonight’s episode, below.
I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! continues every night at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
Curious how much this year’s contestants are being paid? Reports suggest Coleen is on the higher end of earnings, and relative newcomers to fame such as GK are on significantly less.
The other moment of note in Sunday night’s episode was a funny anecdote involving Maura’s unnamed ex-boyfriend, as she told the camp about the elaborate revenge scheme she took out on him when he discovered he was cheating on her...
Coleen also spoke about meeting Donald Trump at the White House in 2018, and being so thrown off by comments he made about football players’ girlfriends that she told her mother he was a “dirty bastard”.
So if you missed tonight’s episode, there was a big shake-up in the camp with Danny and Barry voted new camp leaders.
This ruffled feathers, however, when Jane was asked to wash up for the camp over the coming days, despite her apparently requesting at an earlier date that she did not want to wash up.
Somewhat inevitably, it’s Dean who will take part in Jack and the Screamstalk.
“It’s not necessarily critter related,” Tulisa tells him.
Finally, we’re about to find out who will take part in Jack and the Screamstalk per votes from the public.
So while Jane says she was winding Barry up, she doesn’t seem to be all that happy about doing the washing up.
“Seems much like the 1950s!” she complains.
Tulisa and GK both believe tensions are due to rise within days...
So Danny and Barry are looking quite depleted after the arguments over assigned chores.
Barry says he didn’t mean to upset Jane, but Jane is saying now that she was only “winding him up” when she complained about being asked to do the washing up.
Anyway, dinner has arrived! The nine stars won by Coleen and Dean has translated to... um... possum?
