Your support makes all the difference.The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards aired on Monday (15 January) following a four-month delay, with the best talent in television gathering in Los Angeles for a shimmering ceremony.
The annual celebration of the year’s most brilliant TV shows took place half a year after nominations were announced back in July.
The ceremony was originally scheduled for September but was pushed back due to the Hollywood writer and actor strikes that brought the industry to a standstill last year. As such, these awards honoured shows that aired between 1 June 2022 and 31 May 2023, meaning it felt a bit like deja vu.
The show with the most nominations was Succession, the fourth and final season of which aired on HBO last year. The drama took home six awards. Fellow HBO dramas The Last of Us and The White Lotus were also heavily nominated, but failed to compete in terms of wins on the night.
Netflix’s limited series Beef and Hulu’s comedy The Bear also saw a raft of big wins at the ceremony.

The nominations for the annual television awards ceremony were announced on 12 July last year; however, due to the Hollywood writers and actors strikes, the Emmys were pushed back from their original 18 September slot.
The final series of HBO’s Succession met predictions and led the nominations, earning a whopping 14 acting nominations and becoming a contender for Outstanding Drama Series (an award it has won twice before).

Ed Sheeran won his first ever Emmy for Ted Lasso
The British musician has won his first ever Emmy this year thanks to Ted Lasso – for best original music and lyrics in a TV show.
Sheeran was presented with the award last week at the Creative Arts Emmys (which were also delayed due to the writers and actors strikes last year).
The other nominees were songs from other shows: Ginny & Georgia, The L Word: Generation Q, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Ted Lasso (nominated twice, only one of the songs being written by Sheeran), and Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.
Succession has already made Emmy history
The final series of HBO’s Succession met predictions and led the nominations, earning a whopping 14 acting nominations and a nod for Outstanding Drama Series (an award it has won twice before).
Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin and Jeremy Strong will compete against each other for the Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series category. This marks the most actors to ever be nominated from the same show in this category.
A similar Succession face-off will take place in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category, where 2022 winner Matthew Macfadyen is nominated alongside his castmates Nicholas Braun, Alan Ruck and Alexander Skarsgård.
Sarah Snook is nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series, while J Smith-Cameron is nominated in the Supporting Actress category.
Including technical categories, Succession picked up 27 nominations in total. Fellow HBO projects The Last of Us and The White Lotus follow close behind with 23 and 24 nominations apiece.
