Cattermole was found dead in his home in Dorset on Thursday (6 April) and pronounced dead later that day, his family have said. He was 46 years old.
A cause of death is currently unknown. Dorset Police have confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the musician’s death.
Cattermole’s band shared a message announcing the news, writing on Twitter: “We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul.
“There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.”
His death follows week after S Club 7 – formed of Cattermole, Hannah Spearritt, Jon Lee, Jo O’Meara, Rachel Stevens, Bradley McIntosh and Tina Barrett – announced plans for a major reunion tour.

S Club 7 manager says Cattermole was ‘a beacon of light'
S Club 7 manager Simon Fuller said he was “deeply shocked and saddened” by the news and that Cattermole would be “greatly missed”.
In a statement shared with the PA news agency, Fuller said: “Paul was a beacon of light for a generation of pop music fans and he will be greatly missed.

Cattermole portrayed both Eddie and Dr Scott in a production of The Rocky Horror Show between 2015 and 2016.

Mark Read, singer of the longrunning boy band A1, shared his condolences on Twitter.
“No words… so sad to hear about Paul Cattermole. Sending condolences & love to his family & friends,” he wrote.

Cattermole’s bandmates Hannah Spearritt, Jon Lee, Jo O’Meara, Rachel Stevens, Bradley McIntosh and Tina Barrett shared a joint statement on Friday (7 April).
“We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul,” the band wrote on their Twitter page.
“There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.
“He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time.”

Cattermole’s death came weeks after S Club 7 announced reunion tour
In February, S Club 7 announced plans to reunite for a national tour.
In a statement released at the time, the group spoke of their anticipation to be together on the stage once more.
“After eight years it feels amazing to announce that we’re reuniting and performing together again,” the official message read.
The tour was due to run through October.
