Cattermole was found dead in his home in Dorset on Thursday (6 April) and pronounced dead later that day, his family have said. He was 46 years old.
A cause of death is currently unknown. Dorset Police have confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the musician’s death.
Cattermole’s band shared a message announcing the news, writing on Twitter: “We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul.
“There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.”
His death follows week after S Club 7 – formed of Cattermole, Hannah Spearritt, Jon Lee, Jo O’Meara, Rachel Stevens, Bradley McIntosh and Tina Barrett – announced plans for a major reunion tour.

Irish singing duo Jedward have shared their shock at the “devastating” news of Paul Cattermole’s death.
On the S club 7’s Instagram post, announcing Cattermole’s passing, Jedward commented: “This is devastating sending you all Love Surrounding you with strength!”
Actor Kai Owen ‘gutted’ by news of Paul Cattermole’s death
Welsh actor Kai Owen has spoken out about the tragic news of Paul Cattermole’s death.
“Gutted. RIP to my old mate Paul,” he wrote on Twitter. “The memories from our time together at @MountviewLDN and beyond are flooding back. SO many… all filled with laughter, songs, & snogging! Rest in Peace mate.”
Shayne Ward pays tribute
Shayne Ward said it was a “privilege” watching Cattermole perform.
The English singer who rose to fame as the winner of the second series of The X Factor tweeted: “#rip #paulcattermole @Paulcattermole1 Was a privilege watching you do what you do best when I was growing up. Was and still am a big of fan of you and the gang. My condolences to paul’s family and extended family @SClub7 x”

Cattermole, who portrayed both Eddie and Dr Scott in The Rocky Horror Show between 2015 and 2016, was honoured by his “Rocky Horror family”.
“Here he is giving us an impromptu version of ‘Reach For the Stars’, one night after the show,” the Rocky Horror Show UK’s Twitter account wrote.
S Club 7 recently announced plans for a major reunion tour
In mid-February, the seven-piece British pop group announced they were planning a major reunion tour in celebration of “ 25 years of S Club 7”.
They had planned on bringing back Nineties nostalgia across the UK and Ireland this October.
It’s not clear yet whether Paul Cattermole’s death will affect the tour.
