A video identifying an uncharacteristically risqué moment in the 1999 children’s film Toy Story 2 has gone viral on TikTok.

Despite being targeted primarily at kids, Pixar films are nonetheless known for sometimes slipping adult jokes into their scripts.

TikTok user @lokilover227 recently flagged one such joke from near the end of the second Toy Story entry, in which Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) watches Jessie (Joan Cusack) perform a series of acrobatic manoeuvres to open a door.

Buzz’s wings then pop out of the sides of his spacesuit, in a gesture which some have taken to humorously allude to sexual excitement.

“What was a joke from a children’s TV show that went way over your head as a kid?” asked the TikTok video, before sharing the clip from Toy Story 2.

The video was liked more than 284,000 times, with many people commenting that they hadn’t noticed the tongue-in-cheek implications of the scene before.

It’s not just Pixar that have hidden adult jokes in their children’s films before either; other Disney properties have also dabbled in double entendre from time to time.

Two years ago, a short scene joking about sexual misconduct was removed from Toy Story 2.
