Troops gather at Japanese firing range after cadet shoots dead two instructors
Footage shows troops gathering at a firing range in Japan after a trainee killed two people.
The 18-year-old cadet was detained on the spot and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, police said.
They allege the male shooter fired eight times at instructors during a drill in Gifu on Wednesday 14 June.
A 25-year-old man was among those killed, and details about the other victims, in their 20s and 50s, are not yet known.
They were all instructors at the facility, authorities said.
Japan’s Ground Self-Defence Force said the suspect had joined in April.
