Jon Jones successfully defended his light heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas at UFC 247 on Saturday.

30-year-old Reyes was undefeated coming into the bout and almost did enough to take the title from Jones, but ultimately came up short as the judges scored the bout 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46 in favour of the champion.

Jones, who sits at the top of the men’s pound-for-pound rankings in the UFC, was up against it in the early rounds but improved as the fight progressed, though many fans felt Reyes won the main event. Re-live all of the action below.

Prediction

Jones was not at his best last time out. But he should have too much for Reyes. We’re predicting Jones by UD.

Reyes fought so hard to defend those takedowns and ultimately get back up, and his tiredness is showing.

Alex Pattle9 February 2020 05:56

Jones closes the distance with an elbow. He has so much experience in the championship rounds and it's showing.

Alex Pattle9 February 2020 05:58

One-two from Jones to end the round - one to the body, one to the head. We may be tied at two rounds apiece heading into the final frame. Reyes may even be 3-1 up...

Alex Pattle9 February 2020 06:00

Jones shoots low and gets the takedown. A crucial moment in this fight? Reyes climbs up immediately...

Alex Pattle9 February 2020 06:01

Jones is clearly fresher, but Reyes is digging so deep to keep active.

Alex Pattle9 February 2020 06:03

Reyes ducks a high kick and lands a stern left hand.

Alex Pattle9 February 2020 06:04

And the final buzzer sounds. An impressive fifth from Reyes in terms of the heart shown, but Jones likely took it. It may come down to that close second round...

Alex Pattle9 February 2020 06:05

I gave that second round to Reyes, who may well be seconds away from being crowned light heavyweight champion.

Alex Pattle9 February 2020 06:06

Dominick Reyes has to be proud no matter what way the judges score this. What a performance.

Alex Pattle9 February 2020 06:07

And.... STILL!
