From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Tyron Woodley vs Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson
Woodley does one lap around the Octagon as he enters, fist bumping Wonderboy on his way round just to remind everyone that there's no ill-feeling here.

Round one: With Bruce Buffer's introductions out of the way, the fight finally begins!
Tyron Woodley vs Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson
Round one: Wonderboy throws the first meaningful attack with a sidekick, but Woodley is quickly out of the way and looks slightly conservative so far. The first three minutes pass by without anything of note though, and it's beginning to test the crowds' patience. The first round ends with boos ringing out as there were just six strikes landed between the two. Not quite what we expected...

Round two: This is getting a little bit tedious now and the fans are far from happy. Woodley is refusing to engage at the moment, and is happy to circle Wonderboy while trying to stay out of his reach. As the aggressor, and I use that term lossely, Wonderboy us picking up the points at the moment.
The round ends again with little of note, Woodley landing a couple of right hands, but that's it. This isn't what we were expecting from the rematch.

Round three: Woodley finally goes for an attack and pins Wonderboy on the cage. He gets the trip takedown, and tries to mount Wonderboy in something similar to what happened in December. Wonderboy gets up to his feet in the clinch, and Woodley responds with two big knees to the chin, before he finally breaks clear of the clinch. Wonderboy ends the round with a big left hand, but at least there was something to watch in that round.

Round four: Woodley is looking much busier now as he tries to make Wonderboy work for the round, but so far everything is a swing and a miss. Wonderboy livens the fight up with a spinning heel kick, though Woodley wears it on the fist, but it quickly settles back into a lull as both refuse to engage, drawing the boos once again.

Round five: Into the final round of what has been a hugely disappointing fight so far. Woodley comes out swinging this time around and he seems to know he' behind on the cards. The fight ends with Woodley on the front foot, and he drops him with a powerful right hook. The referee thinks about stopping it, but the hooter goes to end the fight just in time. That might be enough to see Woodley hold on.
