Eddie Alvarez will come out second, as he is the defending champion, with McGregor's featherweight title not on the line tonight.

Alvarez charges into the Octagon after a quick prayer, and McGregor refuses to back down as he follows him around the ring. Ohhh this is tense. Brice Buffer begins the introductions...

Round 1: Alvarez immediately lashes out with an inside leg kick. McGrgeor responds by diving in and missing, and wears another kick on his right shin. McGregor floors Alvarez! He lands the left counter that did for Jose Aldo! Alvarez gets back up but he's groggy...

Round 1: The knockdown came a minute and 30 seconds in, and McGregor floors Alvarez again before the two-minute mark is reached. A third knockdown! This time Alvarez stays down and McGregor pounces on him! he's pounding on Alvarez with punches and elbows and has him pinned on the fence. Alvarez gets back up, and when he shoots for a takedown McGregor throws him to the fence effortlessly.
A definite 10-8 round for McGregor with three knockdowns, all with the trusty left hand.
