UFC 270 LIVE: Ngannou vs Gane fight results and latest updates
The UFC heavyweight title is on the line in the main event, while the men’s flyweight belt will also be contested
The first major UFC event of the year has arrived, with two massive title fights topping the card at UFC 270.
In the main event, an undisputed heavyweight champion will be crowned as Francis Ngannou defends his belt against interim title holder Ciryl Gane. The opponents are former teammates, with the build-up to their clash tonight coloured by arguments over who had more success in their old sparring sessions. Ngannou is the most feared power-puncher in UFC history, the French-Cameroonian’s professional mixed martial arts record standing at 16-3 – while his UFC record is 11-2 since his debut in 2015, with 10 of those wins coming via knockout or TKO. Meanwhile, Frenchman Gane is undefeated at 10-0, having gone 3-0 in 2021 to claim the interim heavyweight title and establish himself as Ngannou’s first challenger.
In the co-main event in Anaheim, Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo will complete a trilogy of flyweight title fights. The rivals drew in their initial meeting in December 2020, allowing Figueiredo to hang onto the belt, before Mexican Moreno submitted the Brazilian last June to take the gold.

Fialho presses forward, but there’s more good work from Pereira, who kicks to the legs and body of his Portuguese opponent.
Fialho has Pereira up against the fence, but they don’t stay there for long.
More pressure from Fialho, but Pereira offering great variety in his offence here.
It feels like any exchange could decide this fight.
There’s a pause in the action late on due to an accidental groin strike by Pereira.

Pereira with knees in close, then he kicks high and low. Another superman punch off the fence.
He secures a PERFECTLY-timed double-leg takedown after a feint up top, just to punctuate a terrific round late on.
We’re looking at 19-19 in all likelihood as the third round approaches.
Nasty cut about Fialho’s left eye.

Pereira – bleeding from the nose – is told by his corner that he gave up the first round to Fialho.
Great start to the second round for Pereira, though! He lands two clean right straights then a beautiful combination including a body shot and uppercut.
He flies at Fialho with two jumping knees and keeps up the pressure. Fialho’s expression has changed here...
He seems to have been hurt by some of those body attacks and is accepting being pushed backwards.

More front kicks from Pereira, but Fialho lands two heavy hooks against the fence!
Fialho with consistent, effective pressure. Pereira slips and his opponent follows him to the mat to land a couple of hammer fists.
Fialho slides into half-guard and ends the first round on top – and likely ahead on the judges’ scorecards.

Pressure from Fialho straight away. He misses with a wheel kick and is jabbed with a couple of front kicks to the body.
Pereira shows some of his trademark eccentricity with a superman punch off the cage. Fialho responds with two sniper-like jabs.
