UFC 272 LIVE results: Masvidal vs Covington stream, fight card and latest updates tonight
Re-live updates from one of the biggest grudge matches in UFC history
Bragging rights went to Colby Covington on Saturday night as he defeated friend-turned-rival Jorge Masvidal in a seismic grudge match in the main event of UFC 272.
Allegations of unpaid coaching fees, debts to loan sharks, poor parenting and more dominated the back and forths between the former roommates and training partners, leading to their clash in a sold-out T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. In the first two rounds, Covington was warned over an eye poke and lost a position due to a low blow, and he also survived a scare later in the fight after being dropped by an overhand right from Masvidal.
The wrestling specialist dominated the majority of the contest, however, taking down his rival numerous times and seeking chokes against the fence throughout. Covington ultimately secured a unanimous-decision win (49-46, 50-44, 50-45) and proceeded to call out another former teammate in Dustin Poirier, who has teased a move up from lightweight. “I just took care of Miami street trash, now it’s time to take care of Louisiana swamp trash,” Covington said, a US flag draped around his shoulders. “Where you at, Dustin Poirier? You said it’s ‘on sight’. I’ll see you soon, you’re next.”

Holland vs Oliveira – Round 1
Nice jab from Holland, now a low kick. He evades a leg kick from Oliveira.
Down goes Holland after a counter punch! It appeared to be more due to a lack of balance than the American being badly hurt. He jumps back up.
Oliveira catches a body kick but does nothing with it. Holland is rushing a little here and lunging in, sacrificing his reach advantage somewhat.
A well-timed low kick sees Holland hit the canvas, and he wraps up Oliveira’s standing leg with his own legs at once. Oliveira gets free, Holland stands, then the Brazilian takes down the American!
Holland is back to his feet quickly, and the pair trade heavy punches on the feet! Both fighters look hurt!

Spivac vs Hardy – Round 1
Hard outside low kick from Hardy to get this fight under way. Another leg kick from the American.
Spivac looks for a single-leg takedown. He can’t quite get it but follows it with a hip toss!
The Moldovan has Hardy on the canvas and against the fence. He’s trying to grab the American’s wrist...
Great strength from Hardy to rise back to his feet. He gets away from the fence, but Spivac still has a hold of him.
Twice more the Moldovan takes down Hardy. The second time he eases straight into mount and fires off a series of punches and hammer fists!
Hardy shells up and it’s called off!
