Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.FAME MMA hold their first card in the United Kingdom tonight, with a host of familiar faces involved in the action.
The UFC is far from the only organisation involved in the sport of mixed martial arts. In recent years a number of competitors have started putting on shows, with FAME MMA holding their first event in Poland last year.
Since then they have grown in size and their first UK card is headlined by a grudge match between Geordie Shore stars Sam Gowland and Marty McKenna.
The show was originally supposed to be headlined by a fight between reality stars Scotty T and Stevie Bear, only for the former to pull out just five days before the fight.
But don’t worry – Dapper Laughs is still involved. Here’s everything you need to know.

Gola is introduced to the crowd. "He knows with the weight difference this is a huge challenge for him ... but he doesn't care."
Great start to the fight as both men exchange leg kicks. Gola then lands a big left hook but it doesn't rock JMX. He's a big lad. And powerful. JMX then drops Gola with a hugeeee kick to the body before pinning him up against the fence.
JMX lands a lot of knees up against the cage. Gola is in a real spot of bother, but he's defending well. JMX lands a succession of knees to the body. And Gola is bleeding a lot from the shin.
JMX takes it to the floor. He has Gola pinned. JMX attempts to posture up but the klaxon saves Gola.
That cut to the shin is nasty. The blood is pouring.
Gola is in all sorts of trouble. The klaxon goes for the start of the second but the Pole is still bent double with ice on his back. He's getting an earful from the referee.
JMX narrowly misses with a huge spinning backfist. That would have finished the fight. JMX then lands a big body kick and Gola drops acrobatically, clutching his manhood.
That didn't look especially low to me ...?
I take it back, smack bang in the crown jewels that. Take your time Gola mate.
