Conor McGregor suffered the second defeat of his UFC career after being submitted by unbeaten UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in arguably the biggest event in the history of the UFC, but the fight descended into chaos immediately after it ended as both fighters were involved in post-match brawls.

A typically acrimonious build-up to the fight, with McGregor ending up in a New York courtroom after he attempted to attack his rival backstage at a UFC event in April, unsurprisingly led to bad blood between the pair, but no one was prepared for the scenes that followed the fight.

After dominating McGregor throughout the first three rounds, Khabib choked McGregor out to force him into submitting, but reacted by jumping over the Octagon fence to confront his teammates, while members from his own stable jumped into the Octagon to attack McGregor. Re-live all the action here.

Where can I watch it?

BT Sport.

McGregor lands a left early, Khabib manages to take his opponent down to the ground and completes the takedown.

Now it's all about if Conor can manage to get out of this.

McGregor is all tied up. Khabib's early game plan looks to be working so far. The crowd boos but it's exactly what the current lightweight champion would want.

A minute and a half left of the first. McGregor is taking no damage and is trying to preserve his energy as much as possible.

Into the final minute of the round.

Khabib takes the first 10-9.

"He'll get slower as the rounds go on, that was his absolute best there," McGregor's corner tell him.

Interestingly, McGregor sits while Khabib stands between the first and second.

Here we go again.

KHABIB CATCHES CONOR!

Adam Hamdani7 October 2018 05:46

Khabib is firing knees and elbows and McGregor is in a serious amount of trouble in the second!

Adam Hamdani7 October 2018 05:48

Khabib is mauling the Irishman, the stats look 59 signficant shots to three.

Wow.

Adam Hamdani7 October 2018 05:49

If McGregor can survive the round, he could be in with a chance. This round has been incredibly tiring for Khabib who has thrown everything at his opponent.

Another big, big round for the current champion. Likely a 10-8. Oh my god catch your breath everyone.

Adam Hamdani7 October 2018 05:51

At the end of the round, McGregor smiles at Khabib and walks away. Bravado and nothing less, he knows how much his opponent dominated the second.

Into the third we go.
