From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

It’s finals weekend at Wimbledon and after an astonishing Friday, the drama is set to continue with the women’s final between Serena Williams and Angelique Kerber.

Williams is bidding to win her 24th Grand Slam, a feat that would match Margaret Court’s record, and should she do just that, it will be one of the most remarkable victories ever seen in the game given that she gave birth to her daughter just 10 months ago. But Kerber will be no pushover, with the two-time Grand Slam winner looking to get back to her best form.

Yet before that match, we had the small matter of completing Friday’s action. Kevin Anderson’s mammoth five-set victory, which finished 26-24 in the deciding set, delayed the second semi-final between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, and when they resumed the match on Saturday afternoon is was Nadal who came out flying to win the fourth set and take it to a decisive fifth. However, Djokovic had enough in the tank to claim the final set 10-8 and reach his first Grand Slam final since the US Open two years ago.

Djokovic 6-4 3-6 7-6 (11-9) Nadal*

0-3

"In case you're wondering if it's raining indoors, no it's Nadal's sweat," says Borris Becker on BBC Sport, and he's not wrong to point out ow he looks! Holding his first serve of the game after a tough 11 minutes and a sixth deuce is looking very important for Nadal.

Djokovic* 6-4 3-6 7-6 (11-9) Nadal

1-3

Djokovic holds serve to take his first game of the set in a matter of shots. That's the ruthlessness he has missed this afternoon.

2-3

Nadal's back hand is exposed as Djokovic attacks the net when his opponent winds up to return his shorts. There's a couple of errors from Nadal who fires a shot over the baseline as Djokovic takes an all important break of serve.

3-3

Djokovic rattles through his service game to hold serve and bring the set level. He is forcing Nadal wide which in the early stages of today was being met with some superb returns, however they are now drifting wide.

Djokovic 6-4 3-6 7-6 (11-9) Nadal*

3-4

Nadal started well and his serve was beginning to put Djokovic on the back foot again. The Serb battled back but Nadal ensures what fight-back there was did not stop him holding serve.

3-4

15-30 Great tennis from Nadal who just does not know when he is beaten. He punishes from Djokovic for being a little cautious when the opportunity to finish him was there.

Djokovic* 6-4 3-6 7-6 (11-9) Nadal

3-5

Nadal earns himself two break points but cannot return Djokovic's serve and the second point is, well, epic. A contest of powerful drives across the court are returned, each with more power and Djokovic eventually finds the net and slams his racket on his foot four times.

Djokovic 6-4 3-6 7-6 (11-9) Nadal *

3-5

Djokovic wins the first two points with a well placed shot which is followed by Nadal's effort into the net. A double fault from Nadal, his second of the match, takes it to 0-40 to Nole...and...Nadal claws the scoreline back. 15-40

Djokovic 6-4 3-6 7-6 (11-9) Nadal*

3-5

Into the net from Djokovic presents Nadal a chance to take the game to deuce. Djokovic has only taken three of 15 points and will be kicking himself as Nadal forces the game to deuce.

Into deuce and Nadal is serving for the set. He takes the advantage with some delicate work at the net to defend Djokovic's cross shot.
