Follow the latest updates live from day three at Wimbledon where men’s world No 1 Novak Djokovic is back in second round action, as well as British No 1 Kyle Edmund and the American teenage sensation Cori Gauff.
The second round proved the end of the road for Heather Watson as she was knocked out by Anett Kontaveit early in the day, with former men's Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka also a shock exit on Wednesday afternoon. Karolina Pliskova successfully negotiated Monica Puig on Centre Court, with Kyle Edmund the biggest casualty losing to Fernando Verdasco before Novak Djokovic takes on Denis Kudla.
However, all eyes will be on No 2 Court where 15-year-old Gauff returns to action fresh from her incredible victory over Venus Williams. Follow all the action and results live.

Some gutsy tennis from Kyle Edmund at 0-15, on the front-foot, reaps the rewards as he holds and remains in his match.

Better from Edmund in that game, and he had a small window at 0-15, but missed the return down the line. He didn't get close after that.

Unfortunately for Edmund, Verdasco is showing no signs of blinking. At all.

A net cord for Edmund, but Verdasco is up to it to pass crosscourt, Edmund falling desperately to the ground.

Supreme by Verdasco right at the very end, finishing it all off with a forehand winner, and after 3 hours and 43 minutes of captivating viewing on Centre Court, it's Fernando Verdasco who will play in round three on Friday, against Thomas Fabbiano of Italy!
Desperately disappointing for Edmund, who can't match his third round finish from last year, but I'm sure he'll come back stronger for it.
Maybe he needs a long recuperation period in order for his knee to heal fully.
