The Serb prevailed 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 13-12 (7-3) and saved two Championship points in a back-and-forth contest on Centre Court.
Djokovic now moves to 16 Grand Slams, and is only four away from Federer's all-time record of 20.

With a win today, Novak Djokovic will draw level with Roger Federer for the most Grand Slams won aged 30+. Djokovic is currently on 3 (2018 Wimbledon, 2018 US Open, 2019 Australian Open) while Federer is on 4 (2012 & 2017 Wimbledon, 2017 & 2018 Australian Open).
