From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. A vintage display from Roger Federer took him past Rafael Nadal into the Wimbledon 2019 final in an eagerly-anticipated first grass court match between the great rivals for 11 years on Friday.

The 40th career meeting between the golden duo with 38 Grand Slam titles between them, swung this way and that before Federer seized control to claim a 7-61-6 6-3 6-4 victory.

World number one and defending champion Novak Djokovic now stands between the 37-year-old Federer, the oldest finalist here since Ken Rosewall in 1974, and a record-equalling ninth Wimbledon title in Sunday's showpiece

GAME, SET, MATCH NOVAK DJOKOVIC! Djokovic 6-2 4-6 6-3 6-2 Bautista Agut

Bautista Agut nets a return and Novak Djokovic is into the Wimbledon final!

After 2 hours and 48 minutes of very good tennis, Djokovic emerges victorious!

No first Grand Slam final for Bautista Agut, but he can be very proud of his performance on Centre Court this afternoon!

Djokovic one match away from a Bjorn Borg-equalling 5th Wimbledon title.

And next? Rafael Nadal vs Roger Federer.

I wonder who Djokovic would rather play, in what will be his 25th Grand Slam final.

Novak Djokovic, speaking to the BBC:

"To be in another final is a dream come true. I will definitely enjoy this experience."

"Roberto wasn't overwhelmed, he played really well. He placed his serves nicely and opened up the points. I got a bit tight, and the first 4/5 games of the third set were very tight. That's where the match could have turned, and luckily it went my way

"Of course I will watch it! I'm a fan of that match-up, Federer-Nadal is one of the most epic rivalries of all time!"

Nadal and Federer are expected at around 4:30pm.
