From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. After a brief respite, Wimbledon returns on Monday for the busiest day of The Championships.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are both in action on Centre Court, while Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic will grace Court No 1. Wimbledon’s second largest court also plays host to the biggest match of the day – Simona Halep’s clash with US rising star Cori Gauff.
Meanwhile, British number one Johanna Konta is second up on Centre. She takes on Petra Kvitova.
There are also a number of intriguing matches getting underway at the early time of 11am. World No 1 Ashleigh Barty takes on Alison Riske, while Elina Svitolina will attempt to reach the final eight at SW19 for the first time in her career when she plays Petra Martic.

Halep 6-3 1-0 Gauff*
Comfortable opening hold for Halep. Really important game now for Gauff...
Halep 6-3 1-0 Gauff* (40-40)
Coco saves a break point with assuredness, as a driven backhand is followed by a forehand into the open court... deuce.
*Halep 6-3 2-0 Gauff
HALEP BREAKS!
The Romanian in control now, as Gauff misses a backhand into the net.
Is this a step too far for the 15-year-old?
CENTRE COURT UPDATE
On Centre, Britain's Johanna Konta is on court against two-time champion Petra Kvitova.
On serve early on - 2-1 Kvitova.
Halep 6-3 2-1 Gauff*
GAUFF BREAKS BACK!
Some more aggressive play, including a scintillating return winner, bring up THREE BREAK POINTS...
On the third, Halep goes wide with a backhand crosscourt, and we're back on serve.
Who said this was a step too far? I certainly didn't...
Gauff just gets a quick check-up from the trainer at the change of ends - not too sure what about.
*Halep 6-3 2-2 Gauff
BIG HOLD for Coco Gauff, to 30.
Again, taking control of points, her destiny in her own hands, seems to be the formula at the moment...
This is encapsulating.
Halep 6-3 3-2 Gauff*
Halep holds to 30, and in a similar fashion to Coco's game, seems more successful when taking control of the rallies.
Again, just like the first set, not much in this... only a few points here and there needed to turn the tide.
