From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.England take on Scotland at Murrayfield in the Six Nations on Saturday with the Calcutta Cup on the line as well as both side’s championship hopes, with the visitors still looking to claim after their 100 per cent start.
Having seen off Italy and Wales so far, Eddie Jones’ side will look to take their third step towards retaining the Six Nations for a second time and become the first team to win the championship consecutively three times in a row.
But Scotland will have been buoyed by their victory over France last time out that made up for the disappointing 34-7 reverse against Wales on the opening weekend, and with a second consecutive match at home, Gregor Townsend will hope to see a partisan Murrayfield crowd inspire his side to a first victory over the English since 2008 and maintain their own hopes of claiming the title.

63 mins: Ireland 27-20 Wales
TRY! That's the way to respond! Steff Evans makes a nice run down the left and Wales spread right. Ireland try to rush up on the second pass to seal the ball off, and Biggar spots it to fling a nice ball out to Navidi. With a two-on-one, Navidi draws in Stockdale before releasing Aaron Shingler, and the flanker dives over in the corner to score Wales' second try. Halfpenny pulls off an excellent conversion and the gap is down to one score.
78 mins: Ireland 30 - 27 Wales
TRY! Seconds after Conor Murray added a penalty to seemingly put the game beyond Wales, the Welsh hit straight back with a try! Steff Evans touches down after good work from Navidi! What a finish we have here!
80 mins: Ireland 37 - 27 Wales
TRY! Game over. Wales are looking for the try to steal the win and Gareth Anscombe's pass is intercepted by Stockdale! The final whistle goes and what a finish! Heartbreak for Wales but the Grand Slam is still on for Ireland!
What a thrilling end to the match in Dublin!
For a minute there, it really looked like Wales were going to pull off a huge upset victory, only for Stockdale to snatch away any chance they had and ensure that Ireland march on towards a potential Grand Slam decider with England.
Next up, it's down to England to keep their end of the bargain as they take on Scotland here at Murrayfield.

England are led out by Joe Launchbury, with the lock collecting his 50th cap today, and he heads out alone before Dylan Hartley brings the rest of the troops alongside Scotland.
A very, very long royal introduction for Princess Anne is followed by the national anthems and now, finally, we're ready to go!
2 mins: England take the restart cleanly and clear their lines through Care. Barclay takes the box kick and, in midfield, Gray smashes into the England line and makes ground. Horne follows suit, and a big cheer goes up when Scotland win the first penalty of the match 15m in from the right sideline, about 35m out.
Laidlaw will go for goal...
