From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Follow the latest updates from the final day of the Six Nations after England moved top of the table with a 34-5 bonus-point win over Italy, with France’s  clash with Ireland at the Stade de France to decide the destination of this year’s title.

Two tries from England centurion Ben Youngs helped his side secure the bonus point they desperately needed, with Jamie George also scoring on his 50 cap for his country. Tom Curry’s try in the second half secured the crucial bonus point, with Henry Slade adding a fifth for good measure.

It means that England have one hand on the trophy, but will have to wait for the result in the final game of the championship to know if they have clinched the title for the first time since 2017, as if Ireland beat France by six points - so long as they score a try - or by seven points, they will beat England to top spot, while a bonus-point win would also be enough for the Irish.

42 mins: France 17-13 Ireland

Bouthier sends one deep for Stockdale to field, but the wing-turned-full-back does supremely well to find touch in the French half with a lovely kick. The lineout is overthrown by Marchand though and Ireland swoop on the ball.

HALF-TIME

The players return for the second half and the final 40 minutes of the 2020 Six Nations,

Will is be Ireland, France or England?

HALF-TIME

Well thankfully Super Saturday has finally come alive! France made a lightning start as Fickou set up Dupont for the opening score, but their disciplinary issues returned to haunt them as Bouthier made the mindless decision to slap the ball into touch and earn himself 10 minutes in the cooler. Ireland hit back and scored through Healy on his 100th appearance, before Sexton nudged them into the lead. However, the ill-discipline swung into France’s favour as Doris brought down Cros off the ball when he was destined to score, giving the home side a slender lead at the break.

Ireland are far from out of the picture though. They’re four points down, but a 10-point swing would be enough to clinch the title.

40 mins: France 17-13 Ireland

France stem the maul attack, and Ireland resort to a bit of one-out driving that allows France to get over the ball and win the penalty with Ireland off their feet.. Should Ireland have taken the points? In hindsight - certainly.

And that’s half-time!

40 mins: France 17-13 Ireland

Ireland have a scrum put-in as the clock ticks red, and despite their best efforts they can’t force a penalty. The balls taken out and Ireland attack, and they get the penalty they were looking for as Alldritt is penalised for a ruck indiscretion. As Doris returns, Ireland turn down the shot at goal and go for the corner.

38 mins: France 17-13 Ireland

Ntamack makes no mistake and restores the four-point lead. Interestingly, Healy returns after passing his HIA, with 1:30 still on the Doris sin-bin.

37 mins: France 14-13 Ireland

France immediately hit back with an emphatic scrum that shoves Ireland back, and when the attack comes to nothing Barnes comes back to give Ntamack a shot at goal from the edge of the 22.

33 mins: France 14-13 Ireland

Sexton takes up every second before converting his second penalty, cutting the gap to one. Cros is off with injury, meaning Dylan Cretin is on in the French back row.

32 mins: France 14-10 Ireland

Ireland rebound well and force France into conceding a penalty inside their own red zone, which Sexton will duly take to close the gap and - more importantly - use up the clock on the sin-bin.
