At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Welcome to The Independent's live coverage of today's Six Nations match between France and Scotland, brought to you from the Stade de France in Paris.
France head into the match looking to return to winning ways, having suffered a narrow 19-16 defeat by England last weekend that stretches their winless run to three matches. However, the two other losses have come against New Zealand and Australia, and combined they have lost out by a cumulative 10 points.
Scotland meanwhile recorded one of their most impressive victories in recent times as they turned over Ireland at Murrayfield in a 27-22 victory, and they will hope to record their first win in France since April 1999 to remain at the top of the table with current leaders England.

Here come the two sides to a passionate reception from the partisan French crowd! Time for the anthems, and a minutes' silence n memory of the late Joost van der Westhuizen.
1 mins: An early turnover at the second ruck of the match gives France early territory and they spread right, but at the next breakdown Scotland make up for it as the defence wins a penalty for holding on. Touch found inside the French half.
3 mins: Both Nakataci and Vakatawa come into midfield and link up well to get Franc eon the attack, and Goujon surges into the Scottish 22. It's turned over though and Maitland breaks down the blindside, and now France turn it over, They attack left, and Jones goes for the intercept and nearly has it! He just knocks on and we'll have a scrum outside the French 22. What an amazing start tot he match!
5 mins: A solid first scrum from the Scots as they hold firm, and Lopez kicks the ball high for Vakatawa to chase. Maitland cleans up but Russell chips possession away, only for Lopez to do the same. Hogg is on hand to clean the ball up and fire it into touch near halfway.
7 mins: Penalty France after Strauss illegally steals the ball in a ruck. Lopez goes for posts...and gets it! France lead 3-0.
8 mins: Great work off the restart from Scotland, despite allowing Spedding through a gap. The ball is swept up by the French but the Scottish backs flood in to hold the ball off the ground, trigger the maul and win the put-in when it doesn't come out. Scrum down on the French 22.
