From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Ireland will attempt to win only their third Six Nations Grand Slam in their history as they take on England at Twickenham, having already wrapped up the championship with a game to spare.
After losing to both Scotland and France, England could finish as low as fifth if they lose to the Irish, but a victory could yet see them finish second in the table. However, the two defeats mean they are unable to catch Joe Schmidt’s side, and should the Irish seal a famous St Patrick’s Day victory – their first at Twickenham since 2010 – they will secure the Grand Slam to add to their 1948 and 2009 successes.
England head coach Eddie Jones has rung the changes for the clash, with seven new faces and 10 positional changes as Owen Farrell starts at fly-half with George Ford dropped, while Dan Cole, Joe Launchbury and Danny Care are also replaced with Kyle Sinckler, George Kruis and Richard Wigglesworth.
Ireland meanwhile have recalled Iain Henderson in their only change to the side that beat Scotland last week, with Devin Toner dropping to the bench.

Good afternoon and welcome to The Independent's live coverage of today's Six Nations clash between England and Ireland, with the Grand Slam decider brought to you from a very cold and snowy Twickenham Stadium
The action is already well underway today as Italy are currently LEADING Scotland 17-12 at half-time in Rome, thanks to tries from Tommaso Allan and Matteo Minozzi, with Fraser Brown and John Barclay crossing for the Scots. Could an upset be in the cards at the Stadio Olimpico?
The second half is barely underway and there's a third try for Italy! Gloucester's Jake Polledri gallops over only for the score to be chalked off for a knock-on in the build up, but seconds later Allan scores his second try of the match and the lead is out to 24-12!
What's at stake today? Well for Ireland, it's arguably the biggest game in their history as they seek to win the Grand Slam at Twickenham - something they've never achieved.
For England, they of course can stop them, but that won't be the motivation today as Dylan Hartley explained in a rather entertaining way...
The Scots are still fighting in Rome! Relentless pressure finally pays off and Sean Maitland goes over for their third try, with Greig Laidlaw's conversion cutting the lead to just five points with 18 minutes left.
It's the first time that England have suffered consecutive defeats under Eddie Jones, and after a particularly difficult week for the head coach, the Australian came out swinging on Thursday.
But will his players do the same?
Scotland lead!
Stuart Hogg is sent over by Greig Laidlaw, with the scrum-half - now playing at 10 - adding the conversion to give the visitors a slender 26-24 lead.
Italy are back in front!
Jonny Gray concedes a penalty from around 38m out and Allan kicks the goal to put the hosts 27-26 ahead with four minute left!
Italy immediately concede a penalty of their own and Laidlaw puts Scotland back in front!
27-29 with a minute left!
