Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Hello and welcome to The Independent's live coverage of day two at this year's Cheltenham Festival! We hope your wallets are suitably bulging after yesterday's action, which saw Willie Mullins' stable storm home in three of their favourites' four contests.

It was a bad day to be a bookmaker with big favourites claiming victory in the Arkle, the Champion Hurdle and the Mare's Hurdle. Will they recover their losses today?

Stay with us throughout the afternoon to get the latest results, odds, updates and maybe even the odd tip, if your lucky.

One man who won't be attending today's meeting is Samir Carruthers and, if yesterday's alleged antics are anything to go by, that's probably for the best.5e966562-a149-4ec2-bb19-6eb18480d27d.jpgMK Dons midfielder Samir Carruthers

For those of you who didn't read the morning papers...

MK Dons have launched an internal investigation into the conduct of Samir Carruthers after images emerged appearing to show the midfielder urinating into a beer glass at Cheltenham Festival.

Need a hand making your selections today?

Our racing correspondent Jon Freeman has previewed the day's action...

The last three winners of the Champion Chase – Sprinter Sacre, Sire De Grugy and Dodging Bullets – line up together in Wednesday's thrilling renewal, yet it will be one of the surprises of the week if any of them manages to derail the express train that is Un De Sceaux.

There's a lot of disappointed Yanworth backers out there but they're blaming jockey Barry Geraghty rather than the horse.

Yanworth did run two furlongs longer than anyone else.

Best jockey won that. Canny ride. Why race so wide? #yanworth

Next up is the RSA Chase at 14:10.This is expected to be a battle between More Than That (7/4) and No More Heroes (5/2).

Barry Geraghty rides the favourite again, hoping for an improvement after that questionable ride in the Neptune.

Ruby Walsh is onboard Roi Des Francs (10/1), a horse which seems to have slipped under radar somewhat.
