Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Follow the latest updates live from the final day at the Isle of Man TT as the blue-riband Senior TT takes place to wrap up the week’s action.

A bumper day of racing on Thursday saw Peter Hickman take his win tally to five TT’s as he claimed both the second supersport race and the Superstock TT, the latter in dominant fashion. Michael Dunlop registered his 19th TT victory by winning the Lightweight race with Michael Rutter claiming the spoils in the TT Zero, while the Birchall brothers Ben and Tom claimed seventh consecutive sidecar race.

But today is all about the Senior TT where Hickman will bid to become just the third man to win four TT races in a week, with Dean Harrison, Conor Cummins and Dunlop out to stop him. Follow the live updates below.

What time does it start?

Friday’s Isle of Man TT gets underway at 10am.

How can I follow it?

Races are not shown live from the TT, so the best way to follow the action as it happens is with local radio or The Independent’s live blog throughout the event. Radio coverage is provided by Manx Radio over the fortnight, while live timing is available through the official www.iomttraces.com website.

10am: Senior TT

Lap 2: Hickman pulled 3.2s over Harrison there, but with the first of two planned pit stops imminent, Harrison can expect to take some time out of Hickman. But in Gasoline Alley, anything can happen...

Dunlop Senior TT

Lap 2: Disaster for Honda Racing, as David Johnson retires on the run down from Cronk ny Mona just as Ian Hutchinson jumps off the bike in the pits. That;s both riders out of the race in the space of seconds.

Dunlop Senior TT

Lap 3: Into the third lap we go and Harrison and Cummins are already through Glen Helen, where we'll get our first look at how the stops affected the eight-second lead. Hickman was actually let through by Dunlop on the exit of the pits, knowing that he's not in the battle for the lead. Here comes Hickman, and the lead has grown! It's over 10 seconds now.
