From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Follow live updates from the Rugby World Cup as Uruguay and Georgia go head to head this morning in Kumagaya.

Fiji were stunned in Pool D on Wednesday when the South Americans achieved the greatest result in their rugby history with a 30-27 victory in Kamaishi.

Georgia, meanwhile, lost their opening game to Wales 43-14 on Monday, but they produced a dogged second-half performance in which they shared 28 points with Warren Gatland's side. Follow the live action below:

What time is it?

Georgia vs Uruguay kicks off on Sunday 29 September at 2.15pm Japan Standard Time, which is 6.15am BST.

22 minutes

Uruguay look more secure at the scrum now, and Gela Aprasidze has slow ball with which to work, and his attempted hooked grubber through is well blocked by Santiago Arata. Georgia find more joy with their next kick and push Uruguay back.

23 minutes

There are a few spaces developing in wider channels for Georgia, but their inaccuracy is hurting them. Tedo Abzhandadze looks to release an inside ball to a fast-moving forward but throws it a metre-or-so too flat. Forward pass.

25 minutes

Felipe Berchesi has got a little kick-happy at fly-half, first a raking punt for territory, then a chip ahead for himself as they look to counter. It just comes away from his hands, and Georgia make a foray down the right touchline to move back to near halfway.

An infield kick puts the pressure on Gaston Mieres with little support, and his rushed clearance flies away into touch.

26 minutes

Uruguay steal the lineout but concede one ten metres deeper into their territory as the resultant kick goes straight out. The lineout steal was outside the 22, so it is carried back, and thus the ball cannot be advanced by a kick straight into touch.

Lineout Georgia ten-to-fifteen metres from the Uruguay line.

Uruguay are in at the side and collapse the maul. Tedo Abzhandadze's outside-of-the-boot kick comes to nothing. Georgia will prod the penalty into the corner for another maul...

Surprisingly, they try to work something intricate at the back of it, with Jaba Bregvadze a ball handler and Otari Giorgadze nearly getting to the white line with his charge.

Gela Aprasidze is well stopped as he looks to jink and jump his way through a crowded space - too crowded, in fact, with a couple of Uruguayans offside. Georgia elect to take a scrum.

29 minutes

Juan Pedro Rombys goes down, again, and it is a final warning for the tighthead. Wayne Barnes thinks Rombys is too low on defensive ball, and keeps going down. Rombys is fine when Uruguay feed.

Georgia penalty, Georgia scrum. We've been here before.

TRY! Otari Giorgadze powers over!

A better scrum from Uruguay, staying high, but Levan Chilachava has created space on the other side for his big number eight.

Giorgadze controls at the back and rides a tackler to the score. He's been busy and beefy as a carrier, and that's a deserved score.

Over go the extras.

Georgia 12-0 Uruguay

Gela Aprasidze's box kicking has been excellent. He's judged them perfectly throughout, giving his wings chances either to compete or make the tackle as soon as the Uruguayan catcher hits the deck.

A firm tackle on the back of one such tackle overexcites the Georgians, though, and they concede a penalty at the ruck.

TRY! A smart set-piece move and Uruguay score!

They did their homework! Wales tore through the gap at the back of the lineout twice earlier in the week and now Uruguay have scored a lovely try through that same area!

It is two front rows covering, and when Jaba Bregvadze pushes out to aid his ten Guram Gogichashvili is left exposed. He's too slow to get to blindside wing Rodrigo Silva, who is well found by Santiago Arata, and Silva has the simple job of finding his inside support for the score.

Andres Vilaseca saunters over, and Uruguay are on the board with a seven-pointer.

Georgia 12-7 Uruguay
