Brilliant centuries from Jos Buttler and Joe Root were not enough to carry England to a record World Cup chase as Pakistan produced a stunning upset at Trent Bridge.
Root's 107 was the first ton of the tournament and Buttler was in irresistible form with 103 in 76 balls but both men fell before the finishing line, with Pakistan closing out a 14-run victory.
A target of 349 invited England to go where no other team had gone before at this level and while their master batsmen were in charge it looked as though they could, should and then would make it two wins from two. Re-live the action in the live blog below

England want to change things up and bring Moeen Ali in to break up this partnership.
Imam is right up for this and neatly tucks one round Jos Buttler for four.

You wouldn't expect Eoin Morgan to turn to Moeen Ali before Mark Wood, but that's where this opening partnership has left England.
Wood's first ball of the World Cup is good, but the second slips under Morgan at cover. A second mis-field from the skipper as Imam steals a run.
Nice variation of speed in the over from Wood as he concedes just three runs in that one. Expect to see a little more of him as the first power play ends.

To put this improved start into context, Pakistan were 45-3 after 10 overs against West Indies on Friday.

Nicely bowled from Mark Wood as a short ball bounces just over Fakhar, the latest in his show of good variation.
He's staying one step ahead of the batsman here as England bring the run-rate from 7.5 to 6.5. Not taking wickets is not the end of the world as long as the scoring comes down, which England have been able to do with Wood here.
Since Wood has come on there's been just nine singles in the last three overs.

Moeen Ali is cracking through the overs here as England continue with their plan to restrict Pakistan to a lower run-rate if they're not going to get wickets.

Right, if we're going to be positive about things then we can take a lot from the fact that this pitch is as flat as they come. This means Pakistan will need a very big total to trouble England, who are likely to score high on this.
Mark Wood delivers another low-scoring over, just two runs and a wide.
Morgan has improved his fielding and finds the stumps with a direct hit after a mix-up, but Imam was well-within his crease after a brief moment of confusion.
