From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Australia would have won this match had they not used their final review minutes before Stokes was struck right in front of leg stump. They'll feel aggrieved at the on-field decision, though.

Stuart Broad, speaking to Sky Sports:  "It was one of those 'I was there' moments. It was absolutely spectacular. I don't think anyone in this ground will see a better innings. It had everything. He struck the ball beautifully.

"The bloke has got the heart of a lion. Everything he does is for the team. He is the perfect team-mate. He didn't celebrate his fifty; he didn't celebrate his hundred. He deserves everything that comes his way because he's an incredible cricketer and an even better bloke."

The final wicket partnership of 76 between Stokes and Leach was the third highest in first class cricket history. And Stokes got 75 of those runs.

No one will forget Leach's contribution to this victory, though.
