Anthony Joshua suffered the first defeat of his career in one of heavyweight boxing's biggest upsets as short-term replacement Andy Ruiz Jr knocked him down four times before claiming a seventh-round TKO victory.

In what completely shakes up the heavyweight scene, Joshua loses the WBA, WBO and IBF titles that almost certainly ends his chances of facing either Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder in the near future, and jettisons Ruiz onto the biggest stage of them all.

Joshua looked to be on course for a simple victory when he knocked Ruiz down in the third, but the Mexican-American responded by knocking Joshua down twice in the same round, before adding another two knockdowns in the seventh round when the fight was waved off. Relive all the action.

Up first is Chris Algieri vs Tommy Coyle!

We're into the third round and it's been all action so far, with Coyle producing a fine second round display, roughing up his opponent and landing with regularity.

Round 4:

Chris Algieri knocks down Tommy Coyle but manages to make it through the round!

It was a lovely combination of body punches that put Coyle on the canvas.

Chris Algieri vs Tommy Coyle round 6:

Both men focusing on the bodywork, but neither landing anything significant until the last 30 seconds of the round, Coyle having more success but leaving himself open to the left counter shots.

Chris Algieri vs Tommy Coyle round 7:

Algieri begins to unload well as Coyle slows down but fails to get much through, with Coyle using his arms to evade any significant damage. Algieri edging this one so far.

Chris Algieri vs Tommy Coyle round 8:

Coyle looks as though he's going for broke now and lands a left hand but takes one back and looks unsteady on his feet but holds.

Algieri is mixing his shots up well, going from body to head and switching time and time again.

FIGHT OVER

Despite Tommy Coyle pleading with trainer Jamie Moore to stay in the fight, he is pulled out after taking significant damage.

While the fighter might not be happy about it, that is the right decision with Coyle looking out on his feet in there.

Algieri wins the bout via corner retirement.

Up next is Joshua Buatsi vs Marc Antonio Periban.

Buatsi making his US debut - what an occasion to do so.

It was a tough night for Tommy Coyle, who despite making a good account of himself was put on the canvas and eventually pulled out of the fight.
