The four-time Green Jacket winner started just two shots behind Francesco Molinari and the pair play alongside Tony Finau in the final group.
But the trio are not alone, with Ian Poulter, Brooks Koepka, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffale all in close contention.

Tiger's (-11) drive goes right on the eighth but he may be okay.
Finau (-10) finds the short stuff, and Molinari (-12) looks to be in the bunker.
Wow.
Tiger Woods takes out the rescue and drills his approach to eight from the first cut. He fires it straight through the green and over the back.
Tiger plays a blinder from under the scoreboard and will a putt for birdie.
Anything you can do I can do to.
Tiger (-12) sinks his birdie and stays on Molinari's (-13) tail.
Tiger (-12) with 168 yards to go, fires his second over to the far left of the green and he'll have a couple of tricky putts to save par.
Tiger's putt is rapid, he aims for the bunker and let's it fall down the slope to the left. It's a remarkable putt from 80ft.
He leaves it 2-inches short of the hole and makes par.
Tiger's out to the right with his tee shot on 10. He's out in the pine straw.
Finau (-11) misses the green to the left, Tiger (-12) chips out of the woods and Molinari (-13) also misses left.
Tiger's (-12) third just drops of the back of the green but he'll have a chance to save his par on the tenth.
Tiger leaves his par putt short on the tenth and makes a bogey. He's back to (-11) and level for the day. The tee shot was the error here.
