From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Holmes and Moore vs Garcia and Cabrera Bello

After the disappointment of the last hole, Garcia responds well and hits it sweet and straight. Cabrera Bello follows suit and both Spaniards find the fairway on the 16th.

Fowler and Mickelson vs McIlroy and Pieters

Pieters with a fine opening drive but work to do for Mickelson as Fowler finds the bunker with his tee shot.

Jordan Spieth & Patrick Reed vs Sergio Garcia & Rafa Cabrera Bello

Garcia's putt follows the path of Reed's as they both miss the hole, and after a quick look at each other, they pick them up and head to the fifth.

Phil Mickelson & Rickie Fowler vs Rory McIlroy & Thomas Pieters

Fowler on seven, to win the hole... no! His putt stays high of the hole, and suddenly Pieters can hole out for a half despite the trip to the water.

Phil Mickelson & Rickie Fowler vs Rory McIlroy & Thomas Pieters

Boos ring out on the seventh green after an idiotic fan yells out as Pieters addresses his ball. He holds his nerve though and McIlroy punches the air in relief, and how they've come away with a half on that hole I have no idea. McIlroy looks towards the guilty fan to revel in the safe.

Jimmy Walker & Zach Johnson vs Justin Rose & Chris Wood

The tense third match continues to remain deadlocked after Johnson misses a putt to win the hole.

Brandt Snedeker & Brooks Koepka vs Henrik Stenson & Matt Fitzpatrick

A bizarre shot from Koepka sees the ball squirt out sideways, hit a tree and bounce back into play while avoiding the water on 12. He gets lucky, and sees the funny side as he laughs to Snedeker.

Phil Mickelson & Rickie Fowler vs Rory McIlroy & Thomas Pieters

Both sides pick up on the 13th as the hole is shared.

Phil Mickelson & Rickie Fowler vs Rory McIlroy & Thomas Pieters

Mickelson gets lucky as his tee shot on 14 runs through the bunker and out the other side, but McIlroy shows him how it's done as he drives about 350 yards to surge past the American ball

Brandt Snedeker & Brooks Koepka vs Henrik Stenson & Matt Fitzpatrick

Fitzpatrick has a putt to win the hole on 12, and he's taking his time in lining it up. He can't make it, so the US have a chance the retake the lead. Koepka can't do it though and runs the ball on by some way to leave them struggling for the half.

Phil Mickelson & Rickie Fowler vs Rory McIlroy & Thomas Pieters

Fowler misses another golden opportunity to win the 15th as he misses a straight-forward putt. He runs it on too, but McIlroy and Pieters walk off to give them a generous one.

Jordan Spieth & Patrick Reed vs Sergio Garcia & Rafa Cabrera Bello

A terrible tee shot from Reed sees him narrowly miss firing the ball into the water on the left of the 13th. Garcia goes for the green and gets it.

Jimmy Walker & Zach Johnson vs Justin Rose & Chris Wood

The third match isn't over by any stretch. Rose makes a huge error on 16 as his tee shot finds a watery grave, and that gives Walker a chance to attack the green. It's a beauty, and he spins it towards the pin perfectly.
