The Rock, John Cena, The Undertaker and many more starred at the biggest WWE show of the year
The biggest wrestling show of the year has come and gone: WWE’s two-night extravaganza, WrestleMania.
WrestleMania 40 played out at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday and Sunday, and the card was stacked.
The main event of night one saw Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson competing fully in WWE for the first time in 11 years, as he teamed with his ‘cousin’ Roman Reigns to beat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Due to The Rock and Reigns’s victory, the latter’s Universal Championship defence against Rhodes – the main event of night two – was ‘anything goes’, meaning plenty of interferences.
And the most notable interferences came from WWE legends John Cena and The Undertaker, who thwarted The Rock and enabled Rhodes to beat Reigns – marking the end a four-year title reign.

Cody Rhodes: “It resonates... because it’s real. I wanted to be this, because at first he [my Dad] wasn’t, and I felt he should have been.
“Then, when he passed away, I failed, I didn’t hand it to him. It became, the story, it was beyond any of that. I felt the need to finish it. Even if I didn’t believe, people believed.”

“I’m so happy for him. He’s forged his own path, he’s done it all, it’s testament to who he is as a person.
“When one road shut down, he went to another road, when that road shut down, he made his own road. All of them, they led back here, to where his dream always was.”
WrestleMania 40 LIVE – Night Two
The Rock has taken to X to laud Wrestlemania 40 as a major success for the WWE.
He claims it was the highest-selling single night in the company’s history and reiterates that this is the start of “a new era, new culture.”
A reference to the merger with the UFC and the new company TKO, but perhaps also in light of the allegations made against former owner Vince McMahon.

I think a lot of fans presumed that Stone Cold Steve Austin was going to emerge instead of The Undertaker. Even so, a cool moment when ‘Taker came out.
