From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Your support makes all the difference. It's the second round of games in Group A as Saudi Arabia look to regain a semblance of dignity against Uruguay following their opening game embarrassment.
Russia thumped Saudi Arabia 5-0 in the opening game of the tournament at the Luzhniki last week and Uruguay, who are considered one of the strongest teams in the group, will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing that shaky defence.
Uruguay will be looking to maintain their 100 per cent record and make sure of a place in the Round of 16 with victory, after a last-minute win over Egypt last time out.

Prediction
Uruguay 6-0 Saudi Arabia. It may look extreme but Russia were dubbed the worst team in the tournament going into the World Cup - and they scored five. Uruguay, with Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani et al., are considered the dark horses this summer so, maybe, 6-0 might be fairly conservative.
24 min: CHANCE! Cavani almost makes it two with a right footed shot but it is defended by Albulayhi
29 min: Foul by Cavani, Saudi Arabia push forward but Uruguay's defence forces them to pass it back
30 min: Strong challenge from Otayf puts Cavani on the floor, Saudi Arabia kick it out of play, but they've won it back
33 min: Saudi Arabia getting easy possession, Uruguay are happy to sit back but Otayf has a chance... good tackle, he should have hit it first time
36 min: That's a waste! Al-Burayk gets the ball on the right wing but smashes his cross out of play
37 min: Al Dawsari gets a little frustrated, he hits a long, long range shot! If it had gone in it would've been amazing but it didn't
39 min: Uruguay are defending really deep and Saudi Arabia are finding it really difficult to wear them down
41 min: Al Jassam goes over whilst stretching for the ball, he looks in pain as he's holding his hamstring, the physio comes on and Al Jassam limps off the pitch
43 min: SUBSTITUTION Al Jassam eventually comes off, and Al-Mogahwi replaces him
