Jack Grealish scored inside the opening minute and produced a much improved performance as Manchester City thrashed 10-man Wolves at Molineux.
After being backed by his manager Pep Guardiola, Grealish answered his critics as he finished Kevin de Bruyne’s fine cross to give City the lead after just 55 seconds with his first goal of the season.
Erling Haaland added a second for City to score in a seventh straight game in a row, this time drilling a shot from outside of the box into the bottom corner.
It went from bad to worse for Wolves when Nathan Collins was shown a straight red card for a recklessly high challenge on Grealish.
Although Bruno Lage’s side responded well, Phil Foden made it three in the second half as De Bruyne got another assist. The result moves City top, ahead of Arsenal who visit Brentford tomorrow.

The win means that City jump ahead of Arsenal to the top of the table. With three more goals, they now have a goal difference of +17, the most by far in the league. Wolves drop down to 16th place, and their fans will be hopeful that can Costa can help add some much-needed attacking force to this side.

Manchester City got their first goal in less than a minute after De Bruyne got the ball into the box for Grealish to poke home. Haaland scored City's second after being found in acres of space. Collins saw a straight red card after a reckless challenge on Grealish, which certainly did not help Wolves' attempt to get back into the game. Despite the home side looking brighter in the second half, City were just too good, and they scored a third through Foden.
