Mario Lemina and Nelson Semedo both went straight back into the Wolves side as Gary O’Neil made two changes for the visit of Newcastle. Matt Doherty and Joao Gomes dropped to the bench as Lemina and Semedo came back from suspension.
Callum Wilson replaced the injured Alexander Isak in the only change to the Newcastle side that started Wednesday’s 1-0 Champions League defeat at home to Borussia Dortmund. There was no Sandro Tonali in the squad as the Italy midfielder begins a 10-month ban for betting offences.

Newcastle are still having most of the ball, but Wolves don't particularly mind that. The home side have been caught out on the one occasion they've lapsed but deserve to be at least level in this game.

Just outside the Wolves box, Longstaff receives the ball from Bruno Guimaraes and drives a powerful shot straight at goal. Dawson dives in and makes an important block at close range.

After sensing a chance to dispossess his opponent in the penalty area, Semedo fells Burn and concedes a free-kick. The Newcastle defender just about got away with that - Wolves are faring well down their right flank.

Once again, Semedo and Neto comnbine down the right, but the latter's cross towards Hwang in the area is cut out by Schar's header.

Wilson had been averaging a goal every 66 minutes in the Premier League before today's game (five in 330 minutes), so that opener will further improve such a superb strike rate. He was in the right place at the right time!
