Mario Lemina and Nelson Semedo both went straight back into the Wolves side as Gary O’Neil made two changes for the visit of Newcastle. Matt Doherty and Joao Gomes dropped to the bench as Lemina and Semedo came back from suspension.
Callum Wilson replaced the injured Alexander Isak in the only change to the Newcastle side that started Wednesday’s 1-0 Champions League defeat at home to Borussia Dortmund. There was no Sandro Tonali in the squad as the Italy midfielder begins a 10-month ban for betting offences.

Newcastle had a greater share of the ball during the first half (60 percent) but Wolves have posed just as much of a threat in the final third, so can the home team turn it around after the interval? The all-Portuguese link-up between Semedo and Neto on their right flank has proved particularly effective - perhaps that could be the route back into this game.

After a dramatic conclusion, the first half of this absorbing Premier League contest comes to an end with Newcastle United leading 2-1. While Wilson was sharp enough to capitalise on Sa's mistake to open the scoring, the visitors barely merited their advantage before Lemina equalised, and a late lapse then saw Wolves fall behind once again. Hwang conceded a penalty on the stroke of half-time, and Wilson stepped up to do what he does best. Newcastle then survived a late VAR check for a possible spot-kick - it's been all-action at Molineux!
