Follow live coverage as West Ham United face Wolverhampton Wanderers today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.

The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

On the pitch, this one has been dubbed - perhaps a little cruelly - 'El Sackico' in some quarters given the pressure on the respective coaches in this game. Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui was only appointed in May but has overseen a decidedly mixed start to the season, which has left West Ham 14th after 14 matches and just six points above the drop zone. The Spaniard survived the axe after a disappointing 3-1 reverse to Leicester City last Tuesday but another defeat here might spell the end of his short reign.

Before talking about the game, it would be remiss not to send best wishes to Hammers forward Michail Antonio, who was involved in a road traffic accident on Saturday. The 34-year-old has undergone surgery on a lower-limb injury and is now focusing on his recovery. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery process.
