That victory gives West Ham a vital three points, and they rise out of the bottom three to 15th in the table. They're replaced in the relegation zone by Wolves themselves, who drop to 18th, still having won only once this season. Rice was everywhere for West Ham, controlling the midfield with aplomb and giving Wolves next to no chance of rescuing the game. He led the way for both touches and passes in both halves, as well as winning a team-high 83.3 per cent of duels. In defence, he won possession a game-high 11 times, via a block and two tackles and interceptions apiece. The full-time whistle goes, sealing West Ham's second win of the season, and their first at home!! Bowen's well-taken strike added to Scamacca's first-half goal, and it was a much-improved performance that looked much more akin to the West Ham of the last few seasons. Wolves, meanwhile, fall deeper into trouble, and despite Costa's introduction giving them an attacking dimension, they couldn't muster anything close to a goal and look increasingly likely of facing relegation trouble this season.
