West Ham United vs Arsenal
It looks like Lopetegui has opted to shore up his midfield by introducing Alvarez, as Arsenal dominated central areas before the break. West Ham concede an early corner, though, and Calafiori heads Saka's cross well wide from a particularly tight angle.

West Ham United vs Arsenal
This is only the fourth Premier League game to see seven goals in the first half alone, and the first since Reading v Manchester United back in December 2012. Many players have contributed, but Saka deserves special mention: having made two assists, won one penalty, then scored another, he has been simply unstoppable so far.
West Ham United vs Arsenal
A stunning seven-goal first half sees Arsenal leading by three at the break, with West Ham left reeling at London Stadium! A relentless encounter first ignited when Gabriel gave the Gunners an early advantage from a header, before strikes from Trossard and Havertz arrived either side of an Odegaard spot-kick. Having been bystanders until that point, West Ham then bit back, with Wan-Bissaka reducing their deficit and Emerson's superb free-kick doing so again. However, the drama was not finished there, as Saka squeezed a penalty past Fabianski to make it 5-2 at half-time. An xG of 2.66 for Arteta's men barely tells the tale of their dominance, while Lopetegui's side managed a more modest 0.64 - surely more goals will come during the second half.

SAVE! Lightning doesn't quite strike twice, as Raya leaps across to tip over another Emerson free-kick, which is struck with venom from 20 yards out! West Ham will have to settle for a corner.
West Ham United vs Arsenal
The first half goes on, as West Ham have a free-kick a few yards outside Arsenal's box. Surely Emerson can't cap off a frankly crazy half by scoring again?

ANOTHER PENALTY FOR ARSENAL! In the third minute of at least five added for stoppages, there's yet another twist in this game! The referee points to the spot after Fabianski misses an attempted punch and strikes Gabriel in the face. Can the Gunners grab a fifth goal before half-time?
