Lyon vs West Ham LIVE: Europa League result and final score after Jarrod Bowen and Declan Rice goals

Craig Dawson and Declan Rice are both on the scoresheet as West Ham take a two-goal lead over Lyon in the Europa League quarter-finals. Can they see it through and reach the semis?

45+1 mins: Two huge goals for West Ham in the first half have given them a firm grip of this quarter-final. They just need to be smart in the second half and keep Lyon at bay and they’re into the semi-finals of the Europa League.

44 mins: West Ham double their lead! Lyon haven’t been the same since the opening goal went in and have looked vulnerable at the back. Ben Johnson gets forward on the left side and is given the ball by Manuel Lanzini. The cross comes into the middle and Emerson heads it out as far as Declan Rice. He takes a touch to set himself and drills a low shot at goal. Castello Lukeba tries to block it but only deflects the effort over the hands of his goalkeeper and the ball nestles in the back of the net.

41 mins: Chance! Lyon are struggling to deal with West Ham’s set pieces. Jarrod Bowen fizzes a diagonal free kick over to the far side of the box where Tomas Soucek is wide open. He heads the ball into the six-yard box where Michail Antonio is waiting for a tap-in. Emerson sticks out a leg and gets a touch to the ball that takes it just behind the West Ham forward and Lyon get is away.

38 mins: Huge goal from Craig Dawson! West Ham have the lead. Pablo Fornals swings the corner into the box as Dawson makes his run towards the near post. He leaps towards the ball and wins header, powerfully nodding it into the back of the net to give the Hammers the advantage in this quarter-final tie.

36 mins: Chance! West Ham punt the ball long and Michail Antonio chests it down to Jarrod Bowen. He lets fly from outside the ball and the shot takes a big deflection to go out for a corner.

33 mins: Manuel Lanzini sends a corner in the Lyon penalty area and picks out Craig Dawson who can only get a glancing touch to the ball and sends the effort wide of the far post.

30 mins: Romain Faivre runs right into Ben Johnson’s tackle and wins another free kick for Lyon over to the right of West Ham’s box.

The Hammers have to deal with another cross and Issa Diop gets up to head the initial ball out of the area.

27 mins: Chance! Michail Antonio does brilliantly to shrug his way into space and cross the ball in from the left. His delivery is brilliant and picks out Jarrod Bowen at the back post but the forward has to stretch to reach the ball and steers his volley wide of the target.
