SPECULATION:

28 August: Portsmouth have completed the signing of veteran midfielder Michael Brown from Wigan for a nominal fee.

19 August: Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez is close to securing the signing of midfielder Ferrie Bodde from previous employers Swansea City.

12 August: Sunderland have completed the £6m signing of Wigan midfielder Lee Cattermole. The Black Cats have agreed a four-year deal for the combative 21-year-old, who will link up with former Latics boss Steve Bruce at the Stadium of Light.

12 August: Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul is being monitored by a host of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Portsmouth, Wigan, Hull and local rivals Sunderland.

7 August: Wigan appear set to sign Rayo Vallecano duo Mohamed Diame and Antonio Amaya after the Spanish club claimed discussions were at an advanced stage.

6 August: Wigan have confirmed the signing of Chelsea forward Scott Sinclair on a season-long loan. The 20-year-old remains a highly-rated prospect as he joins his sixth different club on loan from Chelsea, and gets his first crack at regular Barclays Premier League football.

5 August: Steve Bruce has not given up on signing midfielder Lee Cattermole from his former club Wigan.

8 July: The Wigan manager Roberto Martinez is targeting Jason Scotland from his old club, Swansea. Martinez signed him for Swansea for £25,000 from St Johnstone in 2007.

3 July: The high volume of calls from Honduras to the Wigan Athletic press office is not about to drop off in a hurry. The club yesterday made the defensive midfielder Hendry Thomas the third player to have been signed from the Central American republic in the space of two seasons.

2 July: Wigan have signed midfielder Hendry Thomas from Honduran club Deportivo Olimpia on a three-year contract, subject to international clearance.
