It was a quieter Friday in the January transfer window as deals edged towards the line but not quite over.

Chelsea remain in hot pursuit of Gonzalo Higuain with a loan deal which would see the Argentinian join the Blues until the edge of the season still being negotiated, while Eddie Howe confirmed that no bids had been received for Callum Wilson.

Marko Arnautovic was dropped from Manuel Pellegrini's West Ham squad with the striker not in the right frame of mind to play after it was reported that his move to Shanghai SIPG had broken down. However, Chinese Super League rivals Guangzhou Evergrande are now also considering a move for the Austrian.

Eddie Howe has told Callum Wilson to focus on Bournemouth and not let himself get distracted by talk of a big-money transfer.

England forward Wilson, currently working his way back to full fitness following a hamstring injury, has been linked with a move to Chelsea during the January window.

Cherries boss Howe insists the striker - who has nine Premier League goals this season and earned a first international cap against the United States during November last year - needs to concentrate on the job in hand.

"I don't want to place any more pressure on Callum or any of my players in my team by talking about things that aren't important really," Howe said.

"What's important for me is Callum working hard for the team, producing his best performances and on a consistent basis.

"For him, thinking about transfer fees, values and other clubs, I would recommend that he focuses on Bournemouth and our games to come."

To Tottenham where Real Madrid have apparently been told they'll have to pay a world record fee if they want Harry Kane.

Madrid are set for an overhaul this summer and have long admired the England captain.

But according to The Sun Spurs have slapped a £310m price tag on their main man.

Chelsea are said to have enquired about Paris St-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The French international is out of contract in the summer and looked set for a switch to Barcelona.

But Bayern Munich are said to be keen and so too are the Blues, according to L'Equipe.

To Manchester United and a possible move for Philippe Coutinho.

The former Liverpool star's switch to Spain has not gone as planned and the Spanish press believe Barcelona could be ready to cut their losses on their £142m man.

United are said to be keen and Mundo Deportivo report that Coutinho is considering his options.

Everton are reportedly monitoring Algeria international Yacine Brahimi, who is set to be out of contract at Porto at the end of the season.

The Daily Mirror reports that Everton sent a scout to watch the forward in action during his club's 3-1 victory over Nacional last week.

Arsenal are looking for reinforcements this month with Belgian international Yannick Carrasco one of them.

However, they cannot afford to sign him from Chinese club Dalian Yifang unless they sell Mesut Ozil first, according to Fox Sports Asia.

The 25-year-old is keen on a return to Europe this month.

Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc has insisted that Jadon Sancho will stay at the Bundesliga side next season and remains a part of the club’s long-term plans.

The 18-year-old, who made his England debut in November, has scored seven goals and assisted a further 10 in 24 appearances this season.

Dortmund bought Sancho from Manchester City for just £8m in the summer of 2017, with his value now thought to be ten times that amount, but Zorc confirmed that his immediate future is with the German club.

Maurizio Sarri is talking Bayern Munich target Callum Hudson Odoi:

"I'm very happy with him because we worked with him from one month ago on the defensive phase and he improved immediately.

"Now we are working with him on movements off the ball and he is improving a lot."

More on Arnautovic and a twist in the tale.

The Sun report the Austrian's dream move to China has collapsed at the 11th hour.

Arnautovic was hoping to complete a switch to Shanghai SIPG and pick up upwards of £300,000 per week but that appears to now be just a pipe dream.

Manuel Pellegrini is set to drop the 29-year-old with his top scorer apparently "not in the right frame of mind to play".
