Last week Real Madrid finally announced the signing of Eden Hazard for a fee that could come to exceed £150m. Elsewhere, Daniel James completed his £18m move from Swansea to Manchester United.
The future of Matthijs de Ligt meanwhile remains uncertain, with the 19-year-old defender currently linked to a host of clubs eager to land his signature. And Liverpool continue to press for the signature of Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.

Arsenal are meanwhile set to push on with their first signing of the summer with a bid for Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser set to be lodged. A new centre-back is high on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s priority list at United with Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and Leicester’s Harry Maguire both options. Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka is another on the Norwegian’s radar.
It won’t just be incomings at Old Trafford, however, with Paul Pogba a high-profile target for Real Madrid and Alexis Sanchez on his way out with Inter Milan and Juventus fighting it out for his signature – if he drops his wage demands. And Liverpool could be active too as they look to go one better after failing to win the Premier League title by just a single point.

Arsenal still chasing Carrasco
Arsenal have reportedly made a bid for Belgium star Yannick Carrasco, according to Spanish publication SPORT.
The long-term Arsenal target revealed this week that Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang had received an offer for his services.
To the delight of transfer news and rumour blogs the world over, Carrasco declined to mention the identity of the club wanting to sign him, but SPORT believe they know.
They have this morning claimed Arsenal are desperate to sign the 25-year-old, particularly after Denis Suarez’s loan move fell flat.
Speaking to Belgian website Nieuwsblad, Carrasco said: "There is now an offer on the table and the negotiations with my agent are progressing well.
"I am the most important player in the club, but I hope the chairman understands me."

PSG confident of signing Matthijs De Ligt by gazumping Barcelona and Manchester United offers

Paris Saint-Germain are offering Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt the biggest financial package and are increasingly hopeful of gazumping every other interested club to a deal.
Barcelona have been the 19-year-old’s preference in terms of pure football, and Manchester United were willing to offer the highest wage with a deal of £350,000 a week.
But sources say the French champions have gone higher as regards the latter.
PSG have also set out a persuasive plan, that explains De Ligt’s role in the team and future.
Barcelona have not yet given up hope, but it is felt by those close to the situation that the French club are now leading the race.

Kenny joins Schalke on loan

Jonjoe Kenny has joined Schalke on loan.
The Everton youngster played 10 times in the Premier League last season.

Van de Beek on De Ligt's future

Donny van de Beek has discussed the future of his Ajax teammate Matthijs de Ligt.
Van de Beek says: "I don’t know. A lot of clubs want to buy him.
"I think so because he is a good player and now he has to choose for himself, where he feels good, he has to go there"

United and Spurs target Fernandes keen on Serie A return

Manchester United and Spurs target Bruno Fernandes is open to returning to Serie A, where he enjoyed a fine spell with Udinese.
“I was very happy in Italy and still watch Serie A games regularly,” the Sporting midfielder told Sport Mediaset.
“I do not have the slightest idea if it’s true that Inter are interested in me.
"They have a great Coach now in Antonio Conte who did so well at Juventus and with Italy. Of course, seeing my name associated with Inter is important.”
