Terry set for Chelsea stay
Antonio Conte has reiterated John Terry's importance to Chelsea in the wake of reports linking the club captain with a loan switch to Bournemouth.
"He is a great player and man. It is fantastic to have a person like him to help me in my first season. He is in my squad, he deserves to play,
John is an important player - whether he plays or doesn't play, he is important in the changing room."
The Cherries were allegedly interested in Terry, after Chelsea recalled Nathan Ake, however Eddie Howe has dismissed the subject entirely.
"There have been no negotiations with Chelsea at all. No discussions, no meeting. Nothing."
Mick McCarthy has revealed that Ipswich Town are struggling to bring in fresh faces amid an injury crisis at Portman Road.
Injuries have blighted Town as Tommy Smith, Luke Hyam, Teddy Bishop, David McGoldrick Brett Pitman and Giles Coke all in the treatment room.
“We’ll have to wait and see next week. Anything we’ve attempted to do has been knocked back.
“It’s a bit like bidding for a house. You ring up, some say ‘we’ll think about it’, some say ‘he’s not for sale’, some say ‘Foxtrot Oscar’, some say ‘we’ll discuss it with the board, come back’. And generally the answer always ends up ‘no’. That’s what’s happened so far.”
Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj could be on the move, with french giants Lyon looking at signing him.
The on-loan Sunderland player's agent, Dirk De Vriese told The Telegraph “Lyon are one of many French clubs who have recently sounded out the plans of Adnan. Out of respect, we listen to everyone. The ultimate decision is for Man United, and we have not yet heard that they want to sell Adnan.”
Schupp signs
Crystal Palace have signed Leicester City left-back Jeffrey Schlupp for a fee believed to be around £12.5m.
The Ghanaian found chances hard to come by for the Premier League champions, making just four appearances so far this season.
He joins on a four and a half year deal.
Schlupp joins Palace looking for first-team football.
Moyes outrage over Lens comment
On-loan Fenerbahce winger Jeremain Lens has outraged his parent club Sunderland by publicly stating he hopes they get relegated.
Lens allegedly said: “I would like to stay at Fenerbahce for many years. Many things will be easier if Sunderland drop down.”
David Moyes was understandably furious in his press conference on Friday stating “You would hate to think that anyone connected to the club would say that.
“I came in off the training ground and someone said, “Have you seen this?” If he said that it’s a disgrace to say that about your parent club.
The winger is currently slated to return to Wearside at the end of his contract, which looks increasingly unlikely now.
“I don’t know if anybody would want him back at the club now." Moyes said
Davis commits his future
Birmingham City midfielder David Davis has signed a new three and half year deal at the club.
He recently made his 100th appearance for the club, after signing from Midlands rivals, Wolves.
The re-signing comes shortly after the club announced the resigning of Craig Gardner from West Bromwich Albion on loan until the end of the season.
Tom Cleverley has spoken about his decision to join Watford on loan until the end of the season.
Speaking to TalkSport he said: "I think I needed to get out (of Everton) and Watford gave me a great opportunity to get my head down and play some football, and hopefully I can help the team from now until the end of the season.
"I want to play as much as I can, assist and score as many goals as I can, and just to feel like a real footballer again."
Cleverley has been restricted to just one appearance so far this season for the blues.
Euro 2016 striker causing chaos
Nantes director general Franck Kita has claimed that striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson has gone AWOL back in Iceland
Sigthorsson was on-loan at Galatasaray until late December, when the loan deal was terminated by mutual consent.
A knee problem caused the Icelandic striker to not play any competitive game for the Turkish club.
Waldemar Kita spoke about the ongoing saga saying: "The boy always does just what he wants, but we have asked him to come to Nantes for medical examination,"
"We can't do anything against him, because he's not asking to be paid. He has taken money from Galatasaray, who have said nothing to us. I'm going to contact them after the transfer window and get stuck into this matter."
The former Ajax striker has managed just three goals in 28 French top-flight appearances since moving for €3.5m.
Winnall signs for Owls
Sheffield Wednesday have announced the signing of Barnsley striker Sam Winnall on a deal that runs until 2020.
The Owls signed the hitman, who had 6 months left to run on his deal at Oakwell, the club will receive £500,000 and bonuses based on whether Wednesday get promoted.
According to The Sun, the Hillsborough side offered to pay four times the wages he receives at Barnsley.
He has scored 11 goals in 23 appearances so far this season and won Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for December.
