Following the conclusion of the Champions League final on Saturday night, all attention now turns to the transfer window as clubs look to strengthen their squads early and avoid drawn-out sagas.

Manchester City have already signed two players with Benfica goalkeeper Ederson and Manaco playmaker Bernardo Silva both joining Pep Guardiola’s side.

One player who won’t be moving, however, is Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, who opted against joining Manchester United.

That leaves Jose Mourinho still searching for a high-profile signing – but will it be Gareth Bale?

Arsene Wenger is also keen to get on with transfer business after settling his Arsenal future for another two years and has promised to spend money in order to turn the Gunners into title contenders. A world-record bid for Kylian Mbappe has been rumoured.

Mbappe to Arsenal:

Arsene Wenger has given the clearest indication yet that he will try to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer after he was spotted in Monaco yesterday, believed to be in discussions to sign the striker.

In an interview with beIN Sports, Wenger said: “Where do you think he might finish? Somewhere where he has a good chance to play and is sure to play. That is why I think Deschamps made that statement.

“He thinks that he needs to play but I would say as well on the other hand that the boy has made enough impression to be basically sure a club who spends a 100 million for you is basically to make at the start at least the red carpet.

“Nobody will buy a player for a 100 million and say, "Come on, sit in the stands."

Manchester United news

Well, it looks like United may still be in for Benfica defender Victor Lindelof after all. The defender looked certain to be heading to Old Trafford in January, only for the move to never prevail. Central defence is a key area Jose Mourinho is looking to strengthen and it seems like the Swede is back on his radar...

When asked about Lindelof, he said:

“I will not say if I want him or not, I think it’s incorrect.

“Rui is not going to be happy with another club manager talking about a player who is his, and the president would not be happy to see that.

“Lindelof is theirs and as long as he’s theirs, he’s theirs.”
