The January transfer window is open and it's already been a record-breaker.

There's only one place to start, isn't there? Philippe Coutinho is officially a Barcelona player after finally completing his long-awaited move to the Nou Camp. Now the question turns to how exactly Liverpool will replace him with Monaco's Thomas Lemar and Leicester's Riyad Mahrez amongst a number of names on manager Jurgen Klopp's shortlist.

Pep Guardiola is sitting pretty but that doesn't mean he doesn't want to get better - Alexis Sanchez is the man he wants with the Chilean's move from Arsenal seemingly imminent while over at Manchester United Jose Mourinho is in the market for a new left-back and an attacking midfielder as he looks to close the 15 point gap at the top.

We will have all the latest news, gossip, rumours and done deals right here so settle in, open up a browser tab and keep it here throughout the day.

Noises from Valencia continue to sound positive with regards to Francis Coquelin.

There is hope at Mestalla that Arsenal will allow him to leave on loan, rather than the £10m deal mooted with West Ham, in order to sign permanently in the summer.

Should Valencia qualify for the Champions League, as they are well positioned to do, then they will need the depth that the French midfielder can provide.

Some news from down in League One where Blackburn have completed the loan signing of Newcastle striker Adam Armstrong.

The 20-year-old, who spent the first half of the season at Bolton, will join Rovers' promotion push imminently.

Tottenham's Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has joined Burnley on loan until the end of the season.

“I think it’s a big opportunity to play my first minutes this season in the Premier League.

“Everyone is shocked because Burnley is just after the big six. They have played very well.

“I watched the last game against Liverpool when they played very well and were unlucky.

“That’s why I have come here, to find football."

Marouane Fellaini’s representatives are anticipating a second offer from Manchester United, although it is currently felt that the two sides are too far apart.

The midfielder’s camp have already turned down one offer, and have interest from several clubs in Spain, Italy and Turkey.

Jose Mourinho wants to keep a player he sees as hugely useful, and the 30-year-old enjoys working with the Portuguese, but he and representatives see his next deal as the potential last big contract of his career.

The Football Association has confirmed that it will enforce the ‘Rooney Rule’ when selecting future coaching roles within the England set-up.

This means at least one Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic applicant with the relevant qualifications and experiences will be interviewed by FA figures for coaching positions.

“The principles of a voluntary ‘Rooney Rule’ will be formally adopted by the England team set up,” the FA confirmed on Tuesday. “This will ensure at least one BAME candidate will be interviewed for every role as long as such a candidate has applied and meets the recruitment criteria.”

Antonio Conte has insisted his feud with Jose Mourinho is personal and that nobody should intervene.

The Chelsea boss has vowed "I won't forget" Mourinho's criticism, after the Manchester United manager hit out at Conte over match-fixing.

Conte branded Mourinho a "little man" after Chelsea's goalless FA Cup third round draw at Norwich on Saturday, and has now stood by those comments.

The former Juventus boss insisted he has no regrets over hitting back at Mourinho, but moved to shut down any further discussion of the two managers' falling out.

"Do I have the look of a person with regret? I don't think so," said Conte.

"I think we both said things, and we'll see what happens in future."

Huddersfield have made another bid for Norwich midfielder Alex Pritchard.

The Terriers have made a significantly improved offer after one of £5million was rejected last week.

Former England Under-21 international Pritchard is understood to be open to moving to the John Smith's Stadium after 18 months in Norfolk.

Norwich want to keep Pritchard, who has impressed after returning from an ankle injury in November, but with promotion from the Sky Bet Championship looking unlikely, Huddersfield's latest bid will test their resolve.

West Ham manager David Moyes has targeted Burnley’s Scott Arfield for a January transfer.

Arfield has just six months left on his contract at Turf Moor and while Burnley have offered him an extension, West Ham are prepared to make him a better offer.

West Ham have not yet opened negotiations with Burnley but they would be prepared to pay close to £2million for the 29-year-old midfielder.

Moyes is a long-term admirer of Arfield’s, having tried to sign him during his season in charge of Sunderland. Now he is desperate to add reliability and Premier League experience to the West Ham squad and sees Arfield as an attractive option.

Arfield is currently in his third Premier League season with Burnley, and has started 13 of their 22 Premier League games so far this term. He joined Sean Dyche’s side in 2013 from Huddersfield Town.

Zinedine Zidane has said he does not want any new signings in the winter transfer window, despite trailing rivals and La Liga leaders Barcelona by 16 points.

Madrid, who have been drawn against Paris St. Germain in the Champions League last-16, are fourth in the league and enduring a disappointing domestic campaign.

Barcelona sealed a £142m deal with Liverpool for Philippe Coutinho on Monday, breaking their transfer record, but Zidane wants to persevere with his current squad.

"I don't need anybody (to sign) and that's that. I don't want anybody, I don't want anything," he said at a news conference on Tuesday.

"We have a squad, I believe in my squad. There are moments in the season that are difficult, but everything is in front of us and we will see what happens between now and the end of the season."
