From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Borthwick-Jackson to return to United

Manchester United look set to end Cameron Borthwick-Jackson’s miserable loan spell at Wolves, according to the Telegraph. The left-back broke into the Manchester United team under Louis van Gaal last season but was farmed out on loan to the Championship club. United were so unhappy with Wolves that they rejected their bid to sign Sam Johnstone last month.
The biggest deal of the window so far is done! At a reported £10m, Everton's move for Ademola Lookman makes him the most expensive League One signing ever...
There's one potential 'in' at Palace, but maybe not this January...

West Ham have already been busy in their striker search - bidding for Scott Hogan and Jermain Defoe.
But they've got another one on the go too.
Mousa Dembele of Celtic is the latest subject of a Hammers bid, with the Scottish champions mulling over an offer of £20million for his services.
Considering he joined for peanuts in the summer, it would be a great return for the Bhoys but there were autumn reports that they valued him at nearly double that price.
In other news, Bournemouth captain Simon Francis has been banned for three games after losing his appeal against the red card he was shown during the Cherries' draw with Arsenal on Tuesday night.
The defender was dismissed for his challenge on midfielder Aaron Ramsey as the Gunners came from 3-0 down to rescue a point at the Vitality Stadium.
Francis will now miss his side's next three games against Millwall, Hull and Bournemouth.
