The forward has become available this summer after a disappointing season with the Italians last term.
Juve vice president Pavel Nedved has revealed that the Serie A champions have received numerous offers for Dybala, with Tottenham one of a number of clubs linked, but it now seems United are in pole position to sign the 25year-old.
Talks have been progressing between United and Juventus over the last 24 hours, with sources saying they are going well. The two clubs are discussing the possibility of the transfers of Dybala and Romelu Lukaku being two separate deals, rather than a direct swap, to make them go more smoothly.
Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino has repeated his claim that he has no influence on Tottenham’s transfer activity in the wake of his side’s Audi Cup win over Real Madrid in Munich.
Tottenham broke their transfer record to sign Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon earlier this month, but Pochettino says he “knows nothing” – and proposed the situation should be reflected in a change of job title.
Pochettino, who swerved questions regarding the future of Danny Rose, told reporters: “I am not in charge and I know nothing about the situation of my players.”
Despite this, reports have suggested that the Argentine is said to be keen on fellow countryman Giovani Lo Celso, who is available from Real Betis this offseason.
Any move is likely to cost upwards of £60m but the man himself has sparked talk of an exit by apparently saying goodbye to one of his coaches on social media.
Lo Celso posted a message reading “Gracias por todo Profe Licha (Thanks for everything teacher”) alongside an image of him and unnamed coach, suggesting a move could be imminent.
One new addition could be Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa whose time in the Spanish capital could well be up.
AC Milan looked all set to sign the 24-year-old but are yet to meet Atletico’s £45m asking price.
That figure is well in range for Tottenham and, according to reports in Italy, they are also keen.
