Welcome along to Tuesday’s transfer news live with the latest rumours, gossip and done deals from the Premier League and around Europe. With the window shutting soon, interest in players is likely to spike in the coming days, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham and more all looking to strengthen or slim down their squads ahead of the second half of the season.

Today’s rumour mill involves Arsenal who are close to completing a loan deal for talented Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard. The deal is thought to cost Arsenal around £2.5m in fees plus the 22-year-old’s wages as he seeks game time away from Real Madrid. Meanwhile there is a battle on for 16-year-old Derby talent Kaide Gordon, and Liverpool are reported to be winning the race for the winger ahead of Manchester United and Tottenham.

United meanwhile could reward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for positioning the club in the thick of the title picture, though there could be many outgoings at Old Trafford, too, with Juan Mata linked to his former club Valencia. Newcastle United have had a loan-to-buy bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Matheus Nunes rejected, according to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, while West Ham lead the race for Jesse Lingard after the arrival of Atalanta teenager Amad Diallo made Lingard’s exit inevitable. Follow all the latest developments below.

WEST HAM MAKE BENRAHMA DECISION TO PUSH THROUGH LINGARD LOAN

West Ham will complete the permanent signing of Said Benrahma earlier than planned to make room for the arrival of Jesse Lingard on loan, according to the Evening Standard.

The Hammers currently have the maximum number of players allowed on loan, but they will pay £25m to sign Benrahma from Brentford, a deal which was originally set for the end of the season.

West Ham could face competition for Lingard, though David Moyes' side are the favourites to bring in the 28-year-old.

LAMPARD SACKING ‘NO SURPRISE’, SAYS GERRARD

Steven Gerrard has admitted he was not surprised by Chelsea's dismissal of Frank Lampard.

The 42-year-old was sacked yesterday after a poor run of form in the Premier League, but Gerrard has backed his former England teammate to bounce back.

"Obviously I'm gutted for Frank, he's an ex-team-mate of mine, someone I respect greatly," the Rangers boss said. "But knowing the guy, he will be back in no time. He will dust himself down and get back involved.

"He will use this time to spend with his family. He's obviously got a young family and one on the way. I'm disappointed for him. I thought it was a very swift exit on the back of a positive result at the weekend (3-1 win in FA Cup on Sunday).

"But I don't know the details. I don't know how it's been for him, I don't know the relationships that he's had inside the club. I did think it was an opportunity for Chelsea to really reach out and support him during this tough period rather than do what they have done.

"But Chelsea have got history for that so it was no surprise."

MAN CITY URGED TO SIGN FORMER CHELSEA STRIKER

Micah Richards has called on Manchester City to sign Diego Costa following his release from Atletico Madrid.

City have lost both Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus to injuries this season, forced to utilise the likes of Ferran Torres and Kevin De Bruyne as makeshift strikers.

And Richards has suggested Costa, who is now a free agent, as a potential solution.

“Manchester City are already on a ridiculously good run of form but if they signed Diego Costa now, he would win them the Premier League – I am sure of it," Richards wrote for BBC Sport.

“Why not get him (Costa) in until the end of the season? He would do more than just ruffle a few feathers and be a pain in the backside for opposition defences – he is a proven finisher who would offer Pep Guardiola’s side a proper plan B.”

“I also read the rumours yesterday that Shkodran is set to terminate his contract. To clarify: there are currently no talks about a contract termination,” Kujtim Mustafi told Transfermarkt.

“The fact is that Shkodran will leave the club in the summer at the latest.”
