MANCHESTER UNITED BOUND...

Manchester United have been linked with Brazil centre-back Marquinhos, however any interest is likely to be over after they were quoted a staggering fee for the youngster. The Sun reports that PSG would want a world-record £112m if United want to sign the 20-year-old. Despite PSG's incredible valuation, Marquinhos is currently behind David Luiz and Thiago Silva in the pecking order at the Parc des Princes.

Belgium international and former Chelsea target Axel Witsel has told Bleacher Report that he'd like to play in the Premier League with Manchester United. The 26-year-old joined Andre Villas-Boas' Zenit from Benfica for £30m in 2012 but hopes to one day play in the English topflight. "It's true that I like the Premier League. It's a very good league, it's a crazy league," he said before revealing who his favourite team is. "I have always liked Manchester United from when I was young."

DENIED...

Despite recent speculation, United have confirmed that they did not bid £26m for Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi, with the Manchester Evening News stating that they are not in the running for the Argentine. The paper reports that United remain in the hunt for Mats Hummels, despite recent quotes from the Borussia Dortmund defender that state he wants to stay at the club.

DEPARTING...

Will Keane looks set to go out on loan with the Manchester United youngster reportedly close to agreeing a move to Sheffield Wednesday. The 22-year-old striker was considered a bright prospect at Old Trafford and was handed his debut by Sir Alex Ferguson during the 2011/12 season, however a serious knee injury derailed his progress.

EXPLOSIVE...

Jose Mourinho could have signed both Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao for Chelsea in the summer but opted against it. The Special One was quoted by The Sun saying the cost implications of bringing them to Stamford Bridge would have "caused an explosion". Click here to read more on that.
